Notes:

A creatively good week is closing in retrospection. New musical discoveries via KVCU programs by Peter the Norse (Idaho), stand-in morning DJs (Arizona, Rebuilding The Rights Of Statues), an old Neil Young cassette (Ragged Glory, 1990) and reverb helped to repel the weirdness. Note: I am just an old, worn down webmaster splattering my mind on a keyboard and reminiscing how things used to be while flying toward the future.

So, typical Sunday, return to studio, get play list down, keep creative artist/DJs firmly on ground and investigate music (old and new). Hank III, Melroys, Adam Franklin. Regular listeners know the drill.

Today's show used every speed on the turntable. Old favorites and recent releases offered rhythm or chord tidbits equal to a new world. Coalesce to margarita induced conversation of Ryan Adam's show, rafting and healthcare... a normal Sunday for sure. As I whirled past the Rocky Flats Inn my mind was as hazy as the eastern horizon, but renewed with ideas. I hope that's how Route 78 West affects its audience.

Abundant phone calls included Halden Wofford (somewhere on the road), DJ Danny (Radio Vagabond) and Doc Martin (DJ, chicken rancher, guitar picker). All are beautiful people and creative minds.

Hurrah for roller-rink instrumentals, backwards masking, songs stuck in your head, induced hallucinations and being on the will call guest list.

Today's hot trak, "Canvey Island Baby" by Adam Franklin. I ordered this one as soon as I got to a phone.

Post show Rio Grande rooftop strategy conference with a side of margs. Thanks to Manager Mike and staff for the great drinks, food and CDs.

Don't miss the musical extravaganza including Ryan Adams, Lucinda Williams, Jesse Skyes and the Sweet Hereafter plus Devothcka and the Old 97's at Red Rocks Amphitheater on August 3rd. Also performing August 3rd, Steve Earle at the Fox Theatre. August 28th Magnolia Electric Co plays the Bluebird. Plan to see The Apples In Stereo at the Bluebird on August 31st.
