Notes:

Except for a few moments of fiddle on Sea Jam Blues the appearance of Duke Ellington seemed like an experiment and had me feeling as if I was standing in a Chicago alley depression soup line. By the time the train songs had ended I reconsidered and felt a calm, nostalgic mood take me over. I think it had something to do with my recent pondering of life. I just started reading Neil Young's biography, "Shakey," and am finishing up a book about Wilco, "Learning How To Die," by Greg Kot. Both are eye-opening, but I would first recommend the Wilco story. It's interesting to find out how all these musicians influence each other. So, get reading!

A normal evening progressed with a sweet tune, "Lullaby" done by Loki, followed by plenty of plugging of his local appearances. Meanwhile, Uncle Jeff was previewing music on his Diskman. Somehow the musical sequence took shape a second before needed
.

The mix of Tweedy, Dylan, Drive By Truckers and The Band was nice... smooth... lyrically soothing. Tweedy's vocals cause me contemplation.

This show's hot trak is Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter, "The Dreaming Dead." The CD appeared from... well I just don't know... and caught my ear in a second. I must pick up this one to add to the collection.
